ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Higher-than-normal tides could cause flooding in low-lying areas of St. Augustine from Sunday through Tuesday, city officials said.
Seasonal flooding events typically happen each fall, but officials are reminding residents and drivers to use caution as water levels rise.
Drivers should avoid roads covered by water when possible. Those who must drive through flooded areas should slow down. Driving too fast can create waves that push water onto nearby properties.
Residents in low-lying areas should keep an eye on water levels over the next several days.
