Judge denies bid to drop charges against woman accused in courthouse sex act

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A judge on Wednesday denied a motion to drop charges against a woman accused of taking cellphone video of herself performing a sex act in the Duval County Courthouse.

Brittney Jones is charged with having unnatural sex in the courthouse and distributing obscene materials.

Her lawyer filed a motion to have the charges dismissed. He argued the Florida law under which she's charged is unconstitutionally vague, in that it leaves citizens to guess what what an unnatural act is.

The judge denied the motion during Wednesday's court hearing. Jones was not in court, just her lawyer.

Her next hearing is Sept. 12.

Jones is accused of performing a sex act on Jeremiah Robinson on the bench in a hallway on the fourth-floor of the courthouse in February, then posting a video of the act on social media.

Robinson is charged with unnatural and lascivious act.
