The Florida Legislature approved a new congressional map that aims to give Republicans four more seats hours after the Supreme Court narrowed a section of the Voting Rights Act.

The Florida map aims to give Republicans four more seats as the party seeks to maintain control of Congress in the 2026 midterm elections.

And the Supreme Court decision could result in Republicans nationwide working to redraw congressional districts that currently include a majority of Black or Latino voters, who tend to favor Democrats.
