His father, Bishop Wayne Wilson Sr., told News4Jax that he is building the new community learning center on West 22nd Street in his son’s honor.

The building will house a fellowship hall, an area for the homeless and a computer lab.

Wilson Sr. remembers the day his son said their community needed a learning center.

“We got in the car, (and) he said, "Dad, if I ever come up and become a pro, I'm going to put a computer lab in a community where it's well needed," Wilson Sr. said.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held Saturday at 5 p.m.
