Jacksonville film ‘On Firm Ground’ highlights Parkinson’s Disease

A feature length documentary film based in Jacksonville aims to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Disease. Directed by Justin Jay Jones, ‘On Firm Ground’ features two people with Parkinson’s as they undergo Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery. Jones has partnered with local Jacksonville organization JAX Hope, Inc., and the film features the First Coast Parkinson’s Run; a 5K and 1-mile fun run held annually in Riverside Park benefitting Parkinson’s awareness. Jones aims to release the film this year, and is currently raising funds to finish the documentary, as well as start a film festival run and North Florida screening tour through a Seed&Spark crowdfunding campaign.
