Pairing Female African American Chefs for Juneteenth and beyond
Jacksonville – Chef Nickey and Chef Vernetta are two African American women making an imprint on the Jacksonville culinary scene with their distinctive flavors.
Chef Nickey is a pastry chef who just moved back to Jacksonville and plans to do well enough to be able to offer her services by cooking and baking for the less fortunate. IG: @chef_nickey_
Chef Vernetta owns The Palate. She has been very active in the community, teaching food safety and sanitation as well as cooking classes to the senior community and individuals with special needs. She hopes this exposure will connect her with more chefs locally and globally. www.thepalatejax.com IG: @chefvernetta / @thepalatejax
Both chefs would like to remind folks to continue supporting African American businesses after Juneteenth is over.
