Rance samples Puerto Rican fare at La Amapola Cafe

La Amapola Cafe recently opened in St. Augustine to become the only Puerto Rican restaurant in that area. Felicia Noel gained a passion for cooking while feeding her community with her aunt and other family members on the island. While maintaining the cultural flavors, the restaurant does things a little differently.Felicia and her team have kept their culture of giving back to the community with their The Glisson Latte that benefits St. Gerard Campus in St. Augustine. They are a non-profit that houses, educates and empower pregnant teens and teen moms as young as age 12. St Gerard Campus focuses on preparing the girls for motherhood while providing therapy, birthing classes, lactation classes, furniture, diapers, formula, clothes and all other needs these mothers might have in order to give them a better chance at being healthy moms and obtain their high school diplomas. Every penny La Amapola receives from The Glisson Latte goes straight to the organization for any needs they might have. Rance made the trek down US 1 to sample the menu and find out more.
