Spring fence tune-up: fix sagging gates, check sprinklers and wash off grime

As the weather warms, sprucing up the backyard fence can become a priority in the overall spring cleaning checklist. Homeowners should begin by testing their gates to ensure the gates are swinging freely and latching properly as many gates will sag or soil will shift over time. Sprinkler heads should always be checked to ensure the heads are spraying away from the fence, as spray can discolor fences and cause rot issues with wood fencing. Finally, a thorough cleaning - usually involving a gentle wash with water or a mild detergent - may be in order to remove the buildup of grime and mildew.
