Southpaw remains, team wants input for newest
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are asking fans to suggest the name for the team's new Shrimp mascot, who will be unveiled on Opening Night, April 12.
The contest winner will receive season tickets and a chance to participate in the unveiling ceremony.
“The new Shrimp mascot, and our returning mascot, Southpaw, represent the affordable family fun that fans can enjoy at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville,” said Harold Craw, Jumbo Shrimp general manager. “We look forward to hearing our fans’ creative name ideas for the newest addition to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.”
The new shrimp mascot will partner with Southpaw, the veteran mascot that represented the team under its previous name, the Jacksonville Suns.

The team's front office will select five finalist names which will be entered into an online vote, scheduled to run from April 5 to April 11.
