Jack Nicklaus makes a surprise appearance at The Players Championship on Thursday
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Jack Nicklaus, 84, who won the first Players Championship 50 years ago, made a surprise appearance on the first tee on Thursday.
Nicklaus greeted past players and checked out his name on the trophy.

According to The PGA Tour , Justin Thomas asked Nicklaus, “You playing with us today?”
