JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a day off, it looked like the offense took another day off. A slow controlled practice for the Jags, but the offense really struggled when they tried to get going.
A dropped pass off the hands of Brian Thomas Jr. led to a Jarrian Jones interception. Just not a clean day. They spent a big chunk of practice doing walkthroughs and getting the offense into the right look at the line of scrimmage. This is the time to clean up things that they saw on the field during the preseason game.

Even with the offense struggling, the highlight of the day was a catch from Parker Washington. He absolutely Mossed Darnell Savage for a touchdown. Savage was in a good spot, but it was just a better play from Washington. He needs to keep stacking good days. Washington has had a good camp so far, but dropped a pass during the preseason game. Dropped passes aren’t the way to earn playing time.
Special teams is a good way to get onto the roster. Jags special teams coordinator Heath Farwell spoke after practice and gave some pretty good co-signs to Chandler Brayboy, Rayuan Lane and Antonio Johnson. For the rookies, Lane and Brayboy that is huge. Johnson has been with the Jags and is competing for playing time, but having that special teams value is always good.
Anton Harrison was excused from practice for personal reasons. With Harrison not on the field, Patrick Mekari took over at right tackle.
Rookie Wyatt Milum spent time at right tackle. Coen gave Milum a shoutout as a guy that he has liked what he has seen from.
Christian Braswell was rolling with Jourdan Lewis and Jones in the secondary with Campbell out. That is a big bump for Braswell, who has looked sticky in camp.
Dennis Gardeck is back healthy and got a bump up to the lineup with Foye Oluokun and Devin Lloyd. Gardeck is also a guy that Farwell mentioned as being a big special teams guy.
