Raines season-opening football game against Miami Central canceled

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Raines High School football team’s season opener against Miami Central is off.
The Vikings announced on Thursday morning that their home opener against the Rockets, scheduled for Aug. 23, had been canceled.
The team posted an update on social media site, X, as well as shared the news on its William M. Raines High School Facebook page. Fans who purchased tickets through GoFan will be refunded through that site.
Raines went 13-1 last season and was the area’s only team to reach the state championship game. The clash against Miami Central was one of the state’s best Week 1 matchups. As of now, the Vikings will open the regular season on Aug. 30 against Sandalwood.
