High school football ‘25: Bolles crushes Columbia; Fleming Island edges FPC in thriller

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The high school football regular season is over, with just one more game left before the playoff brackets are finalized.

Friday night wrapped up the regular season in Florida for most teams, with Super 10 teams Bolles and Oakleaf rolling to blowout wins to put a bow on 2025.

No. 3 Bolles clobbered No. 7 Columbia 31-0 to wrap up the regular season at 9-1. No. 8 Oakleaf had no trouble with Tocoi Creek, winning 31-8.

Only one game remains, and it’s a big one. Beachside and Fleming Island will meet on Nov. 4 in a makeup game that will decide the District 3-5A title. Fleming Island edged Flagler Palm Coast 26-25 on Friday night in a thriller that helped the Golden Eagles (6-3) make their playoff case. If Fleming Island beats Beachside, that delivers the district title to Ponte Vedra (8-2). If Beachside wins, that wraps up a district crown for the Barracudas.

But with how Region 1-5A looks from an FHSAA ratings perspective, it still holds quite a bit of intrigue. Beachside, Middleburg and Fleming Island all need to be in the top seven because district champ Lincoln has locked up a playoff berth, but is seeded ninth currently. If the Trojans stay in ninth when the final rankings are released, they still get a playoff berth at the expense of the No. 8 team.
