JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX Varsity 4 Super 6 boys soccer rankings will be published every Thursday during the regular season — except during Thanksgiving and Christmas week. Records are through Dec. 18 games.

1. (2) Ponte Vedra (7-0-2), Class 5A
Quality wins: Bartram Trail, Englewood, Nease, St. Augustine.
Notable: The Sharks tied Mandarin 2-all since our last Super 6, but they move up after the Mustangs dropped their second match of the year, this time to Bartram Trail. Antonio Mahfuz Neto has a team-best eight goals. Noah Ostfeld is next with five goals.
2. (1) Mandarin (9-2-2), Class 6A
Quality wins: Bartram Trail, Beachside, Chiles, Creekside, Fletcher, Nease.
Notable: The Mustangs went 1-1-1 since our last Super 6, beating Chiles (6-0), trying Ponte Vedra (2-all) and losing to Bartram Trail (2-0) in a bit of a surprise. Mandarin is off until Jan. 7. Emir Trto (12 goals, 17 assists) and Robert Calazans (17 goals, 6 assists) lead Mandarin in scoring.
3. (3) Beachside (9-2-1), Class 5A
Quality win: Englewood, Fletcher, Sandalwood, Tocoi Creek
Notable: The Barracudas are surging. During their six-game winning streak, they’ve had quality Ws over Sandalwood, Tocoi Creek and Fletcher. Their only local losses are to Fleming Island and Stanton. They’ve got St. Augustine up next on Friday before heading into the Christmas break.
4. (6) Bartram Trail (7-3-2, Class 6A)
Quality wins: Arnold, Fleming Island, Mandarin, Nease.
Notable: The Bears move up after a two quality Ws since our last Super 6. They beat Arnold (1-0) to hand the Marlins their first loss of the year. They tied Tocoi Creek and then evened its season series with previous No. 1 Mandarin (2-0).
5. (4) Creekside (8-2-1), Class 7A
Quality wins: Fleming Island, Fletcher, Mandarin, Nease, Spruce Creek.
Notable: The Knights bounced back from a 3-0 loss to Arnold with quality Ws over Spruce Creek (4-2) and Nease. They return to the field Jan. 9 in a St. Johns County showdown with its biggest rival, Bartram Trail. Luke Amman has a team-best seven goals and Sebastian Hernandez has five.
6. (5) Tocoi Creek (7-1-2, Class 6A)
Quality wins: Flagler Palm Coast, Matanzas.
Notable: The Toros had a tough game against Beachside in a 4-0 loss, but they recovered to play Bartram Trail to a scoreless tie. They return to the field on Jan. 6 against Providence. Dominic Nazario has six goals to lead the Toros. Tocoi Creek gets the nod over Bishop Kenny this week.
