(5) Episcopal (8-4, Class 3A)Notable wins: Clay, Fletcher, Middleburg, Paxon, West Nassau. To cap their 2-0 Super 6 week West Nassau beat a solid Providence squad 8-2.

Bolles’ only other loss came to St. Johns Country Day in the second game of the season. They beat Bishop McLaughlin Catholic (7-1) and St. Johns Country Day (6-3 in 9 innings) and lost 5-4 to Ponte Vedra.

It escaped what would have been a bad loss by edging winless Suwannee (15-14) but rebounded from that scare with a 13-2 rout of Bartram Trail.

There’s an excellent Clay County showdown a week from Friday with a home game against the Blue Devils from Green Cove Springs. Glance: Another Clay County team, another sterling start. The Bears slide due to inactivity this week and stay in the Super 6 ahead of Providence and Trinity Christian.

Lee tops Bolles to win 3rd Fortegra Basketball Invitational tournament
NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – LSU signee Alex Fudge took tournament MVP honors and led Lee to a 66-51 victory over Bolles in the championship game of the Fortegra High School 9:12 Invitational basketball tournament on Saturday night. Saturday recapsEpiscopal 54, West Nassau 34Mark Flakus had 15 points, Cort McCarthy followed with 14 and Beza Miller 12 as Super 6 No. Eric Gaines led Camden County with 22 points. The win sends Lee into Saturday’s championship against either Bolles or West Nassau. The Bears advance to the fifth-place game Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against either Camden County or Fletcher.
