1. (1) Episcopal (3-0, Class 1A)
Notable wins: Harrison (Ga.), St. Edward’s.
Glance: The Eagles laid the collective beatdown on Harrison (17-3) and Creekside (14-0) since our last Super 6 and have looked excellent this season. Episcopal is locked into this spot until they at least get a challenge. Big challenge on Saturday against Vero Beach.
2. (2) Ponte Vedra (3-1, Class 2A)
Notable wins: Bolles, Fletcher, Harrison (Ga.).
Glance: The Sharks beat Harrison (16-11) and lost a tight game to powerhouse Lake Highland Prep (10-7) since our last Super 6. Two difficult games this week at Lake Brantley and then Vero Beach.
3. (3) Bartram Trail (3-1, Class 2A)
Notable win: Oak Hall.
Glance: The Bears beat a quality Oak Hall (9-4) and then hammered St. Augustine (14-0) since our last Super 6. Busy week ahead, with Nease at home and a road trip to the Panhandle to face Pensacola Catholic and Gulf Breeze.
4. (4) Bolles (3-2, Class 1A)
Notable wins: Gulf Breeze, Nease, Tocoi Creek
Glance: The Bulldogs had two quality wins since our last Super 6, a 14-10 W over Tocoi Creek and a 15-4 romp over Nease. The loss was a one-score game to a quality Oak Hall team. Three games this week (Creekside, Buchholz, Maclay).
5. (5) Tocoi Creek (3-1, Class 2A)
Notable wins: None.
Glance: Ashley Cotter is off to a fast start for the Toros, racking up 22 goals through four games. The competition hasn’t been stout (teams they’ve beaten are a combined 1-6), but Tocoi Creek played well in a 14-10 loss to No. 4 Bolles.
6. (6) Nease (3-1, Class 2A)
Notable wins: None.
Glance: The Panthers’ three-game winning streak came to an end with a one-sided loss to Bolles (15-4). Up next are Bartram Trail (Wednesday) and South Walton (Thursday). I’ve got the Panthers in this week ahead of Fletcher and Fleming Island.
