Varsity 4 Super 6 flag football: Bolles, Tocoi Creek move into rankings, Paxon moves up

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Varsity 4 News4JAX flag football Super 6 rankings will be published Wednesday through the end of the regular season with the exception of a week off for spring break. Records are through March 3.

Rank, previous, school, record, classification

1. (1) Clay (2-0, Class 2A)

Notable wins: White.

Glance: The Blue Devils haven’t played since a 59-0 blowout of Gainesville on Feb. 24. They’re back in action on Thursday against Lyman. They’ve outscored teams by a combined 86-0 this season.

2. (2) Ponte Vedra (3-0, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Fletcher, Sandalwood.

Glance: The Sharks thumped Fletcher (46-0) and Flagler Palm Coast (28-6) since our last Super 6. They’ve got Creekside (Wednesday) an Chiles (Friday) up next. Izzy Murray has 14 TD passes and 831 yards this season.

3. (5) Paxon (2-0, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bradford, Stanton.

Glance: The Golden Eagles clobbered Bradford 41-12 since our last Super 6. They round out the week with a game against Bishop Snyder on Wednesday.

4. (NR) Bolles (4-0, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Fleming Island, University Christian.

Glance: The good start for the Bulldogs continues. They’ve beaten University Christian (7-6) and Fleming Island (7-0) since our last Super 6. That’s a great open for the first-year program. Kayla Bliss has passed for eight TDs, four of those to Alexa Clutter.

5. (NR) Tocoi Creek (2-0, Class 4A)

Notable win: Nease.

Glance: The Toros have outscored teams by a combined 70-0 this season. Their first real test comes on Saturday against No. 1 Clay and then Middleburg. Addy Curry and Genesis Sanchez have combined to pass for seven TDs.

6. (NR) Fleming Island (1-2, Class 3A)

Notable wins: None.

Glance: The Golden Eagles have struggled badly on offense. They beat Global Outreach Charter 29-6, but have a combined six points in games against New Smyrna Beach and Bolles. They stay in ahead of Bartram Trail, Atlantic Coast and Stanton.
