JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars lost out on receiver Jake Bobo on Monday afternoon as the Seahawks matched an offer to hold on to the fourth-year player, according to a report from ESPN.

Jacksonville signed Bobo, a restricted free agent, to an offer sheet last week worth $5.5 million over two years. The Seahawks had five days to match Jacksonville’s offer and did that with plenty of time to spare.

Bobo (6-4, 207 pounds) projected as a No. 5 receiver for the Jaguars behind Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington and Travis Hunter. Jacksonville saw him as a big-bodied player who could have been the replacement for Tim Patrick (6-5, 210) and offered special teams upside.

Patrick is a free agent, but at 32 years old, Jacksonville would likely try and get younger at the position. He had 187 yards and three touchdowns on 15 catches last year with the Jaguars.

The Jaguars have signed just one outside player in free agency, Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. Jacksonville has seen linebacker Devin Lloyd, safety Andrew Wingard and running back Travis Etienne depart in free agency.
