Rank, Previous, School, Record, Class
1. (1) Baker County (12-0, Class 4A)
Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Baldwin, Bartram Trail, Bishop Snyder, IMG Academy, Middleburg, West Nassau, Yulee.
Glance: Four wins since our last Super 6, with quality Ws over Bartram Trail and IMG Academy. They round out the week against Hilliard and Atlantic Coast. Baleigh Shields has stayed on a tear. Her average didn’t drop a point since our last Super 6, still sitting at .600 with a couple homers and 19 runs scored. Sadye Harvey (.414) and Mallory Jackson (.405) follow Shields.
2. (6) Columbia (12-2, Class 4A)
Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Branford, Gainesville, Ridgeview, Venice, Williston (twice).
Glance: The Tigers have won 10 consecutive games since a loss to Santa Fe on March 3. There’s a big-time clash at perennial power Bartow on Friday. Alannah Lord (.542, 3 HR, 20 RBI) and Luisa Taylor (.404, 19 runs) lead the offense. Josie Raulerson, Ryleigh Stone and Kinley King have combined to win all 12 games in the circle.
3. (4) West Nassau (8-3, Class 3A)
Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Baldwin, Yulee.
Glance: The Warriors went 2-1 since our last Super 6, beating previous No. 2 Baldwin (3-2) and Hilliard (3-0), and losing to a 10-4 Trinity Catholic team (5-0). Teagan Harter (.486) and Olivia Urbina (.462) lead the Warriors at the plate.
4. (5) University Christian (8-0, Class 1A)
Notable wins: Bishop Snyder, Fleming Island, Madison County, Sandalwood, Yulee.
Glance: The Christians returned from a two-week break with wins over Bolles (4-2) and Yulee (4-3). They’re in tournament action to round out the week before a clash next week against West Nassau on Tuesday. Piper Tessier (.500) and Sinai Tunsill (.478) are atop the offensive leaders. Dixie Tessier (5-0, 35 Ks, 28.1 IP, 0.99 ERA) is handling business in the circle.
5. (2) Baldwin (8-4, Class 2A)
Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Middleburg, Paxon, Yulee.
Glance: The Indians have a handful of quality wins, so they hang on in the Super 6, despite losing to Creekside (5-4) and West Nassau (5-2) since our last Super 6. They’ve got another shot at West Nassau on Friday. Jazmine Ramos-Merced (.417), Lily Hubbard (.415), KK Fry (.364) and Hayden Peebles (.387) are leading Baldwin at the plate.
6. (NR) Paxon (8-2, Class 4A)
Notable wins: Fletcher, Mandarin, Middleburg, West Nassau.
Glance: The Golden Eagles squeeze out Episcopal for the No. 6 spot this week, largely due to their quality Ws. Yes, they have a 12-2 loss to Baldwin, but the other teams I considered don’t have as strong of a resume, even with Creekside edging Baldwin this week. Tough game on Thursday against Atlantic Coast. Kassidy Edwards (.536), Mikiyah Lester (.533) and Amaya Hyslop (.522) are all above .500 at the plate.
