Nease girls, boys doubles teams will play for overall titles; Danielle Wei will go for singles crown

The Nease girls tennis team went back to back in its state championship quest, sweeping Jensen Beach in the Class 3A title match on Thursday.

The Panthers romped to a 4-0 win, with Danielle Wei and Blair Murray winning in straight sets in singles. The doubles teams of Wei and Olivia Jepsen and Blair Murray and Portland Murray won easily in doubles. Nease routed Cypress Creek 5-0 in the semifinals to sail into the championship match.

The team championship was the third in Nease girls history (1997, 2025), and the Panthers join Bolles (2004-05) as the only area girls teams to win back-to-back championships.

Wei will play for the overall singles championship, and teams up with Jepsen to play for the overall doubles championship on Friday.

On the boys side, Nease’s William Chaves and Charles Neal won the individual doubles title with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Luca Torres-Sigler and Nicolas Schwartz of Spoto.

Chaves and Neal will play for the overall doubles championship on Friday morning.
