High school softball playoffs ‘26: Dozen teams move on to second round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The high school softball playoffs opened on Wednesday night with nine area teams moving on to next week’s second round and another three advancing on Thursday night.

The higher seeds all moved on with the exception of No. 5 Yulee pulling an upset on No. 4 West Nassau in a 3-2 showdown between Nassau County rivals. In Region 1-2A, Bolles went on the road to upset fourth-seeded Bozeman 4-3.

On Thursday, Atlantic Coast topped Creekside by a run for the second time in a week, this time a 4-3 win in Region 1-7A. Tocoi Creek and Middleburg also rolled in their playoff openers on Thursday.
