The best flag football season in Tocoi Creek history ended on Friday afternoon.
Parka Vista fended off the Toros 18-13 in the Class 4A state semifinals at the AdventHealth Training Center in Tampa Bay. The Toros, in just their second season of flag, finished 12-8.
Addy Curry threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Mia Sanchez with 9 seconds remaining to bring the Toros to within 18-13. Tocoi Creek then attempted its second onside opportunity of the game and drew a roughing the passer call. Needing just 10 more yards to regain possession for one final play, Curry’s pass was incomplete and the Cobras nailed down the win.
Curry had another touchdown pass to Kendall Moreno.
