An arrest warrant for ASAP Towing and Storage President Vince Serrano shows investigators believe he defrauded Floridians of nearly $194,000 by underreporting the sales prices of unclaimed vehicles while overinflating ASAP’s costs to tow, store, and sell them.

The owner of ASAP Towing turned himself in to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Wednesday and was charged with grand theft and organized fraud, according to his arrest report.

The News4JAX I-TEAM has obtained records showing ASAP Towing failed to report $181,000 of overages in a timely manner in 2023, however, it was paid back eventually.

People living in the Gables at Wingfield Glen, a gated community of townhomes in St. Johns County, said they are fed up with finding their cars missing from their driveway.

The Animal Shelter Assistance Program in Santa Barbara County says the calico named Patches was brought in as a stray last month and a microchip scan revealed her identity. Twenty-three people were killed, including cat owner Josie Gower. The ASAP shelter says Patches was found less than a quarter-mile from where her Montecito home stood.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After prosecutors accused a towing service of auctioning off the vehicles of service members who were serving overseas, that company has settled with the government and is paying back the sailors and soldiers who cars, trucks and SUVs were taken. The first case reported to prosecutors was the PT Cruiser that belonged to a lieutenant who was deployed aboard a submarine. Dreiband said prosecutors that the company cooperated in reaching a settlement to compensate all of the servicemembers whose vehicles were taken. The department’s enforcement of the SCRA is conducted by the Civil Rights Division’s Housing and Civil Enforcement Section and U.S. Attorney’s Offices throughout the country.
