Cubs RHP Thompson suspended by MLB for hitting McCutchen
Chicago Cubs reliever Keegan Thompson was suspended for three games on Monday for hitting Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Andrew McCutchen with a pitch. Cubs manager David Ross was suspended for one game by Major League Baseball. Thompson and Ross also were fined an undisclosed amount.news.yahoo.com

Dombrowski hired as Phils' president of baseball operations
His next challenging project: a Philadelphia Phillies team that's gone nine years without a winning record. Dombrowski joined the Phillies as president of baseball operations on Friday. He said in October he would be willing to step aside sooner to make way for a new baseball operations boss. The 64-year-old Dombrowski has led baseball operations for four teams over more than three decades in the majors, taking a trio of franchises to the World Series. He joined the Red Sox as president of baseball operations the following August and made a number of key acquisitions — including ace Chris Sale, slugger J.D.

Democrats in Pa. scramble to limit number of 'naked ballots'
The so-called naked ballots have become a huge concern for Democrats in the state since the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled last week that ballots had to be rejected if not enclosed in the proper secrecy envelope. Democrats so far have been far more likely than Republicans to request mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania and the rest of the country. “Remember, you must place the ballot in the secrecy envelope first for your vote to count,” the ad's male narrator says. Former Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson said naked ballots are just one of the ways people can “mess up” their absentee or mail-in ballot. ... Then you put that secrecy envelope inside the big envelope."

MLB announced Friday that its partnership with the Jackie Robinson Foundation would extend through 2023. It includes $3.5 million to support the foundation's Scholarship Program, the Jackie Robinson Museum and the annual JRF ROBIE Awards.
