Back-to-school season is bringing safety into sharper focus for families in Northeast Florida as more children ride e-bikes and related incidents increase, and a helmet is one of the simplest ways to prevent serious injury.

In a new investigation, Consumer Reports found bike helmets that don’t meet basic safety standards sold on major websites, and that’s not the only potentially phony safety gear you might find online.
