Washington Football Team gets hitting at 'fresh start' camp

There's a new coach in Ron Rivera running the show, and his custom-made staff ensuring practice goes his way. It was football practice during a pandemic, even if it had a different feel than Redskins training camp that was held in Richmond, Virginia, the past seven years. The team would like to see Haskins take another step forward in the wake of rookie growing pains. It will be called the Washington Football Team for at least the 2020 season, with Terry Bateman spearheading the process to determine a new full-time name. Wright is the fourth former player to become a team president and does so after several years in business.

Washington NFL team hires law firm to review culture

Owner Dan Snyder has hired a District of Columbia law firm to review the Washington NFL teams culture, policies and allegations of workplace misconduct. Beth Wilkinson of Wilkinson Walsh LLP confirmed to The Associated Press on Thursday that the firm had been retained to conduct an independent review. ESPN was first to report Washington hiring the firm. Director of player personnel Alex Santos, assistant Richard Mann II and longtime broadcaster and senior vice president Larry Michael are no longer with the team. Also Wednesday, the team promoted Jeff Scott to assistant director of pro scouting and advance coordinator to replace Mann.

Shad Khan: Will he or wonโ€™t he keep Coach Marrone?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ€“ Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone appears to have survived whatโ€™s known in the NFL as Black Monday -- the day after the final regular-season game when head coaches of losing teams often lose their jobs. Between Sunday night and Monday, the Browns fired coach Freddie Kitchen and the Giants fired coach Pat Shurmur. A spokesman for Jaguars owner Shad Khan refuted an ESPN report over the weekend that Marrone would be fired after Sundayโ€™s game against the Colts, saying that Khan would meet with Marrone and other coaches and staff by mid-week before there would be any additional front-office changes. โ€œAs you go through the year and you start hearing people, when they refer to Shad, say Shad and Tony or the Khans. Tony Khan already is running the Khan family wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling, and has a hand in Fulham FC, Khanโ€™s soccer team in Great Britain.
