The move was retroactive to Wednesday and Boone described the strain as mild after an MRI revealed the injury. To replace Judge on the active roster, Thairo Estrada was recalled from the Yankees alternate site in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. His right wrist was broken when he was hit by a pitch in 2018 and he went on the injured list for two months last year with a left oblique strain.

Blackmon returns to Rockies after recovering from COVID-19

I have felt that way for at least a couple of weeks now, Blackmon said on a video conference call with reporters before taking batting and fielding practice at Coors Field. I had a day and a half of symptoms and after that I started feeling much better, Blackmon said, adding he hopes to be ready for the Rockies July 24 opener at Texas. My symptoms were what I would consider mild flu symptoms, Blackmon said. And Im lucky that my COVID experience was not nearly as severe" as many others who have been infected, Blackmon said. This is a minor, minor glitch, a minor speed bump, he said.

Teams not able to disclose who goes on IL due to virus

Cashman noted the situation continues to evolve as Major League Baseball and the players' union continue discussions. Last week, Charlie Blackmon of the Colorado Rockies became the first Major League Baseball player known to have tested positive. Numerous other teams have said they have players who have tested positive for the virus without identifying any of them. Seattle Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said a few players have tested positive but declined to specify how many. Baltimore general manager Mike Elias said the Orioles have had no reported cases and that no one on the team has decided against playing in the shortened season.
