The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners has a new chair following a dramatic meeting marked by a clash between two board members.

The St. Johns County Commission Tuesday meeting was marked by tense moments when County Administrator Joy Andrews' job performance was scrutinized.

Clay Murphy won a four-way Republican primary for this commission seat in August, defeating incumbent Roy Alaimo and two other candidates. While there are no Democratic candidates in the race, there is a write-in candidate who qualified, meaning the primary was only open to Republican voters.
