Russian win rhythm dance to extend command at skating worlds

Already, the Russians have won pairs — they almost always do — and have the lead in the women's event. Another of the favorites, Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin of Russia, struggled with some footwork and turns, finishing fifth. Later Friday is the women's free skate, with Anna Shcherbakova of Russia in the lead.
Tony-nominated Broadway star Rebecca Luker dies at 59

Her death was announced by her husband, veteran Broadway actor Danny Burstein, who said in a statement “our family is devastated. Luker made her Broadway debut in 1988 in “The Phantom of the Opera” first as an understudy to Sarah Brightman and then playing Christine opposite the legendary Michael Crawford.
