Actor and comedian Eddie Murphy said in a video tribute Chappelle is the type of person who is "so much smarter than everyone." "Dave is one of the most, maybe the most, intellectual comedian ever," Murphy said. Brad Pitt visited Kanye's Sunday Service

Brad Pitt was in attendance at Kanye West's Sunday Service and it's kind of a head-scratcher. The event was held over the weekend in Watts, California, which you ordinarily wouldn't think of as a stomping ground for ether of the superstars. And there, in the crowd of folks jamming in the parking lot of a church in Watts, was Pitt. Photos on social media show Pitt and West smiling and chatting it up. CNN has reached out to a rep for Pitt for comment.

Dave Chappelle to host benefit concert for Dayton, Ohio

(CNN) - Comedian Dave Chappelle will host a free concert for Dayton, Ohio, on Sunday to honor people killed in this month's mass shooting and to benefit families and survivors. His wife, Kim Kardashian West, tweeted a link to the performance, writing, "In support of the victims and survivors of the Dayton mass shooting." Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley announced the event Wednesday, adding that people unable to attend can donate to the Oregon District Tragedy Fund. No more will be available, the event page said. Chappelle lives with his family in Yellow Springs, Ohio, about 20 miles east of Dayton.

TV's sketch comedy boom is hip, smart and inclusive

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - The new IFC sketch show "Sherman's Showcase" wasted little time in mocking preconceived notions about its expected audience. In reality, it's been four years since Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele's Emmy-and-Peabody-winning Comedy Central show "Key & Peele" ended and TV's sketch market is growing increasingly racially diverse. He added that "I don't think any of these sketch shows coming out are going to look the same or even, or even deliver the same kind of jokes. While the name "A Black Lady Sketch Show" does emphasize the historical significance of this series, it was almost called the somewhat less inclusive "The Black Lady's Sketch Show." "Sherman's Showcase" is currently airing on IFC and "A Black Lady Sketch Show" airs on HBO.
