Ample opportunities for viewers to follow Chauvin trial

In this image from Minneapolis city surveillance video, Minneapolis police are seen attempting to take George Floyd into custody May 25, 2020, in Minneapolis, Minn. Floyd’s name is more widely known than Chauvin's, but calling it the “Floyd trial” would wrongly imply that the victim was the one on trial. Most called it the Chauvin trial. CourtTV called it “The Death of George Floyd Murder Trial.” ABC said it was the “Derek Chauvin Trial, 10 Months After George Floyd’s Death.”For some of the specialty networks, the trial offers a rare opportunity to increase viewership, both on the air and online. CBS' website will carry its own coverage, along with that of the network's Minneapolis affiliate, he said.

Some New York news shows back, but many hosts work remotely

Monday represented a key phase in New York City's reopening, with many offices bringing employees back for the first time. Despite the CBS and Fox moves, most news employees continue to work remotely, and the television programs that originate here have a patchwork of approaches that have quickly become familiar. A majority of the show hosts on MSNBC including Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist of Morning Joe work remotely. Other morning shows have varied approaches. Hoda Kotb of NBC's Today show has worked out of that show's Rockefeller Center studio, but most of her colleagues are at home.

Powerful moment: Ahmaud Arbery’s mother attends George Floyd’s funeral

HOUSTON, Texas – The mother of Ahmaud Arbery, Wanda Cooper Jones, attended the funeral of George Floyd and attendees who saw her said her presence at the procession was ‘powerful’. Cooper Jones told Muir that she "needed” to go to Houston to show support for Floyd’s family. Cooper Jones also added that the protests and rallies over Floyd’s death has given her some peace in her own son’s slaying. She told Muir that Arbery would be proud of her activism, her presence in Houston and the journey she’d embarked on to get him justice. There are stark differences between the deaths of the two men Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd, but each triggered a mass outcry for justice from the public.

Swiping for cash back, the right way

"Even with a strong economy and low unemployment, life is expensive," said Ted Rossman, an industry analyst at Creditcards.com. "Cash-back credit cards help defray some costs." Why exactly are credit card issuers handing over cash? "Of course, credit card issuers make a lot of money through interest payments and other fees, as well," Rossman said.
