Grayson Howard transfers from South Carolina to Florida

Florida got better on the defensive side of the football Thursday when it picked up a commitment from transfer linebacker Grayson Howard, a Jacksonville native and former area star.

The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl has its matchup and it’s a great one.

Though his team is out of the playoffs, Grayson Howard will represent Jackson one more time. January 7 in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. On Saturday, Howard received his All-American Bowl jersey.

After more than a decade of struggles, Jackson is contending again. If the Tigers beat Raines a week from Friday, they’ll clinch the district title for the first time since 2009.
