Padres RHP Chris Paddack (2-2, 4.91) allowed five home runs in his previous two starts over 8 2/3 innings. Gibaut was suspended by Major League Baseball for three games, appealed the suspension and was active for Tuesdays game. Padres manager Jayce Tingler said after the game that Tatis missed the take sign from third-base coach Glenn Hoffman. Before Tuesdays game, Tingler said he wont put on restraints on the 21-year-old who began the day leading the majors with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs.
