Lily Eskelsen Garcรญa, who was president of the National Education Association until September, has been calling members of Congress to build support for her candidacy. The caucus drew attention to Biden's proposals to confront racial disparities in education, saying Eskelsen Garcรญa has been pursuing that work for decades. Andrade called her a โ€œbona fide, proven educatorโ€ with a compelling personal story and a firm commitment to public education. โ€œYou will not find a bigger contrast in people than between DeVos and Eskelsen Garcรญa,โ€ Andrade said.
