Patrick Ewing says he wasn't recognized at Madison Square Garden and was "accosted" by staff

Knicks legend Patrick Ewing played at Madison Square Garden (MSG) for 15 years, but the Hall of Famer has been treated like a stranger in his old stomping grounds. Ewing, who is now the head coach for Georgetown, was at MSG for the team's game against Villanova. He said he was asked to show his passes so many times that he considered calling Knicks owner Jim Dolan, MSG Entertainment executive chairman and CEO. "I thought this was my building and I feel terrible that I'm getting stopped, accosted, asking for passes. Charles Oakley wins right to jury decision on assault claim

NEW YORK – A jury can decide whether former New York Knicks star Charles Oakley was ejected from Madison Square Garden with excessive force when he was removed as a spectator to a 2017 game, an appeals court ruled Monday. Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated assault and battery claims Oakley made in a lawsuit brought against the team’s owners after his February 2017 removal from a game the Knicks lost to the Los Angeles Clippers. The appeals court, though, rejected Oakley's claims of defamation and false imprisonment. Oakley was a Knicks fan favorite from 1988 to 1998. It said Dolan and Madison Square Garden then launched a defamatory public relations campaign, accusing Oakley of abusing fans and staff, acting inappropriately and struggling with alcoholism.

Judge dismisses ex-Knicks star Oakley's lawsuit against Dolan, MSG over ejection from game

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A federal judge has dismissed former New York Knicks star Charles Oakleys lawsuit against team owner James Dolan and Madison Square Garden Co stemming from his forcible, televised ejection from a 2017 basketball game. Sullivan also said Oakley failed to show that his treatment by Garden personnel at the game, where he was arrested, handcuffed and led away from his courtside seat, amounted to assault and battery, as well as false imprisonment. The Knicks have had three winning seasons and 13 coaches in the last 19 years under Dolan, who is also executive chairman of MSG and co-defendant MSG Networks. Its just the beginning of the fourth quarter and we are confident that we can turn this around.MSG welcomed the decision. Sullivan, previously a federal district judge, now sits on the 2nd U.S.

Why New York Knicks might look to break the mold with Leon Rose and Steve Stoute picks

Steve Stoute, founder of Translation, participates in a social justice panel at the Civil Rights Summit at the LBJ Presidential Library on April 10, 2014. If the report becomes official, the hire of Rose would come after the team fired team president Steve Mills, and weeks after the Knicks hired Steve Stoute, the branding guru who founded marketing agency Translation. If Dolan does hire Rose, he's using the player-agent model to build his front office, which is a move growing in popularity among NBA owners. Rose represented NBA superstar LeBron James before he switched to current agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group. He tried the NBA guys Steve Mills, a guy who came from the NBA offices originally he tried that model.

Forget Kevin Durant: New York Knicks owner James Dolan's actual passion project is building futuristic, dome-shaped arenas

New York Knicks James Dolan has never made the team his number-one priority, much to the chagrin of the NBA team's exasperated fan base. MSG Spheres won't just house live concerts and other spectacles, they'll also be able to feature movies and media specifically for the arena. The Las Vegas MSG Sphere will have an interior giant movie screen of about 160,000 square feet, wrapping up, over and behind a stage. The idea is to make MSG Spheres the gold standard for modern venues.
