New York Times TV critic called the January 6 Committee hearings some of the best television of this year, praising the hearings as the "show of the summer."

Many observers expected the Jan. 6 committee hearings would be nothing more than reruns, but they've proven much more.

Aided by former ABC News chief James Goldston, the committee probing the attack on the Capitol is trying to turn a year-long investigation into must-see TV.

The Jan. 6 congressional hearings are being held with the help of a big-time television producer, and dramatic revelations have been promised.

The Republicans wrote that they are unaware of whether a required letter requesting approval of James Goldston's hiring has been submitted.

Baron, executive editor of The Washington Post and one of the nation's top journalists, says he will retire at the end of February. The Los Angeles Times is further along in its search for a successor to Executive Editor Norman Pearlstine. The Washington Post named Krissah Thompson the newspaper's first managing editor for diversity and inclusion. Kevin Merida, a senior vice president at ESPN and former Washington Post editor, is a name on many lists as a potential hire. The news industry's financial troubles over the past two decades has thinned the usual pipeline of leaders, Geisler said.
