Newly acquired Golden State guard Gary Payton II will be out for at least a month as he fully recovers from offseason surgery for a core muscle injury, and Warriors general manager Bob Myers is awaiting a decision from the NBA on whether the Trail Blazers withheld anything on Payton’s health before trading him.

Memphis basketball standout James Wiseman has been ruled ineligible to play by the NCAA. MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The season for a top University of Memphis basketball player -- and potential top pick in the NBA draft -- is in jeopardy. He was named head coach in March 2018 and Wiseman committed to Memphis in November of the same year, WMC reported. Hardaway: 'We're just gonna keep our guys locked in'The NCAA said in a statement on Twitter that the University of Memphis was notified that Wiseman was ineligible. As far as the rest of the season, Hardaway said the team will go forward as planned.
