Ed McCaffrey makes long-awaited Bears debut against Colorado
Colorado's Karl Dorrell has a solid scouting report on his coaching counterpart: Reliable hands. At least, that's the way it was when both were with the Denver Broncos — Dorrell in charge of the wideouts and Ed McCaffrey as one of his receivers. It will be the long-awaited college coaching debut for McCaffrey, who was hired on Dec. 12, 2019, only to have his team sit out last season due to the coronavirus pandemic.news.yahoo.com
Kentucky's Horsey among 3 Comeback Player of Year winners
(AP Photo/Richard Shiro, File)Kentucky offensive lineman Kenneth Horsey is one of three winners announced Saturday of the Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year Award, along with Colorado running back Jarek Broussard and Coastal Carolina linebacker Silas Kelly. Horsey overcame a heart condition that required surgery and threatened his career to become a starter on Kentucky's offensive line. Last year Kentucky linebacker Josh Paschal was the Bowl Subdivision winner of the Comeback Player of the Year award. Usually winners are selected from lower divisions of college football, too, but since the pandemic postponed those seasons three winners were selected in major college football. Horsey said he found inspiration in Kentucky offensive line coach John Schlarman, who continued working while being treated for cancer.
Broussard, Jefferson headline AP All-Pac-12 football team

Oregon State's Jermar Jefferson averaged more than 145 yards per game and scored seven touchdowns. Broussard and Jefferson were voted co-offensive players of the year by a media panel in The Associated Press All-Pac-12 team released Friday. Broussard had the fourth 300-yard game in Colorado history when he went for 301 yards against Arizona on Dec. 5. He added 11 catches for 126 yards and was second among FBS freshmen with 144.6 all-purpose yards per game.
