'Nomadland,' 'Borat' win at a socially distant Golden Globes
Sheโs only the second woman in the history of the Globes to win, and the first since Barbra Streisand won for โYentlโ in 1984. Its star, guerilla comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, also won best actor in a comedy. โThe Queen's Gambitโ won best limited series, and best actress in the category for Anya Taylor-Joy. โSchitt's Creek,โ the Pop TV series that found a wider audience on Netflix, won best comedy series for its final season. Catherine O'Hara also took best actress in a comedy series.

Target, Lowe's earnings on deckRetail earnings are kicking into high gear with Target and Lowe's reporting on Wednesday morning. Kohl's quarterly earnings and sales missed estimates due to an "increasingly competitive promotional environment" and the retailer also slashed its profit outlook for the year. Its quarterly sales fell short of expectations while earnings beat. The consensus for Lowe's quarterly earnings is $1.35 per share, compared to an EPS of $1.04 in the third quarter of 2018, according to FactSet. Investors will look to the minutes for clues about how divided the Fed is on its policy.

Have fun at the movies in 2012. Wiig plays Annie, a hapless maid of honor to her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph). The film during its theatrical release was criticized by some for being too cynical, but truthfully, it's not cynical enough. "The Help" -- Writer-director Tate Taylor's adaptation of Kathryn Stockett's best seller Emma Stone features the best ensemble cast of the year. A brilliant ode to a bygone era, "The Artist" is by far the most unique -- and entertaining -- film of the year.
