An Army sergeant will stand trial in a military court in the shootings of five people at a Georgia base in August.

The Department of Justice on Friday accused two Georgia parents, including an enlisted soldier who was living at the Fort Stewart Military Reservation, of starving their daughter to death.

Four years ago, Democrats accounted for 37.9 percent of the registered voters, while 35.4 percent were Republicans and 24.02 percent were independents. Broward County has the next-largest amount at 1.266 million voters, and Palm Beach County is at 1.02 million. Nearly 2.1 million voters have already cast ballots by mail for the Nov. 3 elections. With the updated book-closing numbers, that means about 14.5 percent of the state’s registered voters have cast ballots. Early-voting sites open in 52 counties on Monday, including most Northeast Florida counties.

(CNN) - Olympic gymnast Simone Biles said Monday night she was "still having a hard time processing last weeks news," days after her brother was charged in a New Year's Eve shooting the left three people dead in Ohio. The five-time Olympic medalist and 14-time world champion said on Twitter that her "heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families." Tevin Biles-Thomas has been charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury in a December 31 shooting in Cleveland. Authorities said the shooting started after a group of uninvited guests walked into a home and a fight began. Biles-Thomas was arrested August 29 in Liberty County, Georgia, where he is being held without bond pending extradition to Cuyahoga County, the Liberty County Jail said.
