Thousands of United Methodist congregations have been voting on whether to stay or quit one of the nation’s largest denominations amid intractable debates over theology and the role of LGBTQ people.

FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – A driver told first responders she hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed through the wall of an apartment building Friday in Fleming Island. The crash was reported at the Lighthouse at Fleming Island apartment complex on Marsh Hawk Lane, west of U.S. 17. Six apartments were evacuated while the Clay County Building Department inspected the structure.
