The Oscar-winning actress will serve as honorary chair of National Library Week, the American Library Association announced Monday. National Library Week runs next April 4-10. Portman will help promote the role libraries have played in their communities during the pandemic. “I’m delighted to join ALA and libraries everywhere in celebrating National Library Week,” Portman said in a statement.

Natalie Portman is making a comeback to the MCU's "Thor" franchise, but this time she gets her own shot at swinging the hammer. That's right, Lady Thor is here, and she's ready to bring the thunder. Marvel announced Saturday at Comic-Con International in San Diego that Portman would play a female Thor in the fourth installment of the franchise, titled "Thor: Love and Thunder." Portman previously romanced Hemsworth as astrophysicist Jane Foster in 2011's "Thor" and 2013's "Thor: The Dark World," although she did not appear in 2017's "Thor: Ragnarok." "I've always had hammer envy," Portman joked, according to Variety.

ETs Ashley Crossan spoke with Marvel super-producer Kevin Feige afterward, when he explained how the concept for the upcoming film came together. Feige added that "when Taiki had this idea and pitched it to her, she was in right away." The upcoming film will also feature franchise regular Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, who will officially be the first LGBTQ superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
