The development leaves general manager Kevyn Adams taking over behind the bench for Buffalo’s game at Pittsburgh on Thursday night. This marks the second time the Sabres have been hit by COVID-19 in two months. Buffalo’s season was paused for two weeks in early February after nine players and then-coach Ralph Krueger were placed in the protocol. The university said the team went through seven rounds of testing in the seven days leading up to its departure for Albany on Wednesday.

By opting out of video game, ND calls attention to NIL issue
The NCAA was sued by former college athletes for inappropriately using their images and likenesses in the video games and lost. Since Notre Dame went public with its choice, Northwestern did the same in response to a question from the Chicago Sun-Times. AdTulane AD Troy Dannen acknowledged that Notre Dame paved the way for its announcement. “It's not like the entire country gasps that they cannot be Tulane in the video game,” Dannen said. That means under the current proposal, the video game could not depict specific players playing for their teams.

The Atlantic Coast Conference is the second league to have two teams in the playoff, joining the SEC in 2017. AP sources: Vandy negotiating to hire Clark Lea as coach
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt is negotiating a deal with Notre Dame defensive coordinator Clark Lea to make the former Commodores player its new head coach. The 38-year-old Lea is a Nashville native who played baseball at Birmingham-Southern and Belmont before walking on as a fullback at Vanderbilt, where he played from 2002-04. He started coaching at UCLA and also has coached at South Dakota State, Bowling Green, Syracuse and Wake Forest. South Carolina has called off its men’s basketball game at George Washington on Monday because of a positive COVID-19 test. Georgia canceled its women’s basketball game against Radford because of a positive COVID-19 test within the Highlanders’ program.
