Oceanway Church Pastor Al Force has been asked by the church’s board to temporarily step away, as questions mount over how the church handled past concerns involving former volunteer John Goodman — concerns that resurfaced after Goodman’s recent arrest in a Marion County child predator sting.

Former youth leaders and members of Oceanway Church in Jacksonville are speaking out following the arrest of a former volunteer accused in a Marion County child predator sting — and they are disputing the church’s account of his involvement with youth and children prior to any arrest or investigation.

More than one thousand people made their way here to Oceanway Middle School on Saturday for a school supply and food distribution.
