SALISBURY, N.C. – A quarterback at a North Carolina college, who once played at both Raines and Ribault high schools in Jacksonville, has been paralyzed after a shooting in which at least six people were wounded during a party at a restaurant, police said.
Livingstone College junior Ryan Williams, 21, of Jacksonville, Florida, was among the victims shot at a Salisbury restaurant early Sunday, said Salisbury police spokesman Greg Beam, who was cited by news outlets.
Five other Livingstone students were wounded, and two of them were Williams' teammates, according to police.
Three students from Catawba College, which is also in Salisbury, were also injured in the incident, police said.
The officers were still outside when the shooting occurred, he said.
