Every holiday season, members of our community donate shoeboxes filled with personal-care essentials, each one wrapped inside a warm blanket. They look like gifts… but for people experiencing homelessness, they often represent something much deeper: hope.

You can make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness by donating to the City Rescue Mission’s Annual Shoeboxes of Love project through Nov. 25.

Jacksonville and its surrounding communities showed the Positively JAX spirit by donating 4,500 shoeboxes filled with personal care items to help the city's homeless.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Share the holiday spirit by donating personal care items for homeless men and women in our community. City Rescue Mission, Fields Auto Group Dealerships, Tire Outlet stores in Jacksonville, Turner Pest Control, and WJXT Channel 4 are collecting shoeboxes filled with hygiene items until December 13. The Shoeboxes of Love project is for individuals or groups who want to make a boxed toiletry kit for a homeless person that comes to the emergency shelter at New Life Inn.
