Sporting Jax launched women’s professional soccer in Jacksonville Saturday night. After battling through weather delays, fans got to witness Jade Pennock score the franchise’s first goal against D.C. Power at the University of North Florida’s Hodges Stadium.

On Saturday night, Sporting JAX will play its inaugural match at UNF’s Hodges Stadium. It’s the launch point for what will eventually become a massive soccer organization that fields both men’s and women’s teams in the USL.

Sporting Club Jacksonville (Sporting JAX) has officially named Stacey Balaam as the first head coach of its women’s professional soccer team in the USL Super League.
