Rain gathered on the tin foil covered and spray-painted catwalk of Tommy Hilfiger’s New York Fashion Week show as guests huddled under umbrellas, waiting for the event to start. Inspired by Andy Warhol’s New York City studio, The Factory, Hilfiger’s Tommy Factory emphasized multimedia expression — from the tin foil sculptures alongside the catwalk to the guest musical appearance of drummer Travis Barker during the show’s finale. Kate Moss, Shawn Mendes, Kris Jenner and Barker's wife, Kourtney Kardashian, were among the guests sitting fronting row.

Total comparable store sales declined 27.6%, but online sales soared nearly 300%. Kirkland's currently has 357 of its 404 stores open to customers. One bright spot was online sales, which rose 32.3% in the quarter. In the last month of the quarter, online sales jumped 97%.
CEO of Calvin Klein owner: Clothes returned to go into quarantine
The Tommy Hilfiger polo that just got returned is headed into quarantine for a few days. Such is retail in what PVH CEO Manny Chirico called "a brave new world" during the coronavirus pandemic. "When goods are returned, we basically put goods in quarantine for 48 to 72 hours. In Europe, about 60% of PVH stores are open, while in Asia around 90% are back in business. But those categories are starting to come back in Europe and Asia as people return to work and social gatherings, Chirico said.

With stores closed, the retail industry is struggling with inventory piling up in warehouses and no place to sell it, the head of the company that owns such names as Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger told CNBC on Wednesday. "Retail companies are not built to have their stores closed for extended periods of time," PVH CEO Manny Chirico said in an interview with Becky Quick on "Squawk Box." PVH's stores in North America and Europe have been closed since mid-March, along with many other businesses. The company has suspended share repurchases and suspended its cash dividend as of the second quarter. Retailers at this time need to "plan for the worst and hope for the best," Chirico told CNBC.
