Imagine Division I college football returning to the 904. It’s not happening yet - but it’s no longer out of the question for the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University. Their home conference, the Atlantic Sun (ASUN), is set to launch a first-of-its-kind strategic alliance with the United Athletic Conference (UAC) - formerly known as the Western Athletic Conference - beginning in July.

The University of West Florida is making the move to the NCAA Division I level this year and joining the Jacksonville-based Atlantic Sun Conference as a multi-sport member.
