Willis Reed, who dramatically emerged from the locker room minutes before Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals to spark the New York Knicks to their first championship and create one of sports’ most enduring examples of playing through pain, has died.
Harthorne Wingo, 73, fan favorite on Knicks title team, dies

Apart from Frazier, Wingo played on a title team with the likes of Willis Reed, Earl Monroe, Bill Bradley, Dave DeBusschere, Jerry Lucas, Dick Barnett and Phil Jackson. The Beastie Boys referenced Wingo's name in a rap lyric to the song “Lay It On Me” more than a decade after Wingo's Knicks career had ended.
